PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In 1998, San Juan USD passed a $157 million bond for the modernization of over 50 campuses throughout the District. The program consisted of a standardized scope of work at most all sites including; electrical service upgrades to accommodate modern technology, expanded power and data distribution, new network systems, phone and PBX systems and new and upgraded fire detection systems. Complete HVAC upgrades occurred, replacing dated hydronic systems with modern energy efficient package and split systems, chillers and boilers. Roofs and windows were replaced and insulation added and campuses painted inside and out. Significant upgrades were provided to accommodate people with disabilities and to provide compliance with current ADA regulations. Additionally, we evaluated all middle and high school science labs, programmed, designed and implemented an improvement program focusing on laboratory safety and compliance with contemporary science curriculum standards.

Nacht & Lewis is currently modernizing student restroom facilities in virtually all district schools. We assisted in developing the upgrade standards and have implemented more than 30 projects to date. These improvements include complete room revitalization with new finishes, fixtures and accessible upgrades.

Nacht & Lewis continues to serve as District Architect. We maintain their modernization design standards and specifications and are their accessibility experts.
