Career Technical Education (CTE) is expanding at Florin High School with the addition of a new Engineering Center. The Engineering Center joins a new Agricultural Center and Culinary Center in forming the Florin High School CTE Trifecta and the first new construction on the campus since it opened in 1988. At nearly 5,500 s.f., the facility is a blend of modernization and new construction. The facility provides a studio where students will utilize computer-aided design tools to develop their own parts for fabrication in an adjacent advanced fabrication lab. This facility contains six CNC milling machines capable of creating parts for student-built robots, rockets and remote-controlled vehicles. In addition to learning pathways in design and fabrication, the Engineering Center will open student’s minds with hands-on tools that explore robotics, aeronautics, pneumatics, thermodynamics and computer programming.
