2013 Best Green New Construction Award

In June of 2013, Nacht & Lewis worked together with all of the Design-Bid-Build partners to complete the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation’s California Men’s Colony, 50-Bed Mental Health Crisis Facility project. On track to receive a LEED Gold Certification, the project was also recently recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council California Central Coast Chapter (USGBC-C4) with the honor of 2013 Best Overall Green New Construction Award!

Each year the USGBC-C4 recognizes construction projects as the Central Coast’s most unique, high-performing and most innovative green commercial construction projects. Judging criteria was based on energy efficiency/renewable energy, water conservation, sustainable materials use/reuse, indoor air quality improvement, waste reduction/diversion, public education and innovative design. The judging committee was particularly impressed with how this project was able to reduce its impact on natural resources and maximize efficiency all while creating a positive environment for staff and patients.

Thank you to the USGBC-C4 for the recognition, and congratulations to all of the following team members for being acknowledged with this prestigious award!
