Counties throughout California are leveraging state funding provided under legislative bills AB900 and SB1022 for detention facility projects. While the opportunities are ample, Counties are faced with the struggle of balancing the up-front expenses and selecting the appropriate delivery methods for their projects.
Lorenzo Lopez, AIA LEED AP, Senior Planner and a Vice President at Nacht & Lewis, recently wrote an article for the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Academy of Architecture for Justice (AAJ) Journal on this topic. The article discusses how project delivery impacts state funded detention projects.
