2025 Year In Review— NEWS

2025 Recap Blog Graphic

As we close out the year, we’re reflecting on a season defined by progress, collaboration, and meaningful impact. From projects advancing through construction to thoughtfully designed spaces reaching completion, this year’s work reflects our continued commitment to design excellence. Alongside these project milestones, we also celebrate the people who make it all possible, honoring career anniversaries, promotions, and a retirement that mark both professional growth and lasting contributions. Together, these moments tell the story of a year well designed.

Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD) Oak Ridge Elementary School (In Progress)

Delivered as part of SCUSD’s Measure H bond program, Nacht & Lewis designed a new 53,300 sq. ft. replacement campus constructed on the existing site while the school remained operational. The project includes a two-story classroom building, preschool and kindergarten facilities, a library, exploration lab, multipurpose room, student services, and a dedicated community engagement center, organized around a secure central courtyard to support equitable, safe, and modern learning environments for the Oak Park community.

UC Davis Health Central Utility Plant (CUP) Expansion (In Progress)

UC Davis Sacramento Health Central Utility Plant Expansion Project constructs an approximately 40,000 sq. ft. expansion to the CUP, providing necessary space for equipment and operations enhancement to improve utility capacity, reliability, and performance. The project also upgrades the existing building and operations to meet seismic code compliance. The project is designed to position UC Davis Health to move towards sustainability requirements with electrified CUP operations over the long-term through a new dedicated connection to the local electricity provider. The components of the CUP Expansion project include both make-ready projects and CUP expansion construction and operation.

Sacramento City Unified School District Ethel I. Baker Elementary School (In Progress)

As part of SCUSD’s Measure H bond program, Nacht & Lewis and Otto Construction are delivering a new 76,000-square-foot campus to replace the original 1950 school. The project features modern learning environments, a multifunctional academic building, a multipurpose gym and performance space, and a community-focused wellness center designed to support students, families, and the surrounding Lemon Hill neighborhood of Sacramento.

UC Davis Health C Street Infusion and Psychiatry Clinic (Complete – May 2025)

Nacht & Lewis provided comprehensive design services, covering all phases from programming and planning to construction, for a 15,500 sq. ft. tenant improvement project. This project included the creation of a new infusion therapy clinic with a compounding pharmacy and an advanced psychiatric therapeutics clinic specializing in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and other advanced therapies for treating depression.
